Finding a Church Home

Psalm 68:6AMP tells us:

He leads the prisoners into prosperity,
Only the stubborn and rebellious dwell in a parched land.
Did you know church is actually a home? No wonder many call it a church home.
In a healthy home there is:

  • Unconditional Acceptance
  • Correction in Love
  • Guidance by God’s Word

Psalm 92:13
Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.

May you bloom and flourish in this season in Jesus name!

Here are some things to bear in mind if you just moved into a new area and looking for a church home.

Like our natural families a church is made up of many smaller families and singles. No church is made up of flawless people, but we have a perfect Savior, a Comforting HolySprit and a Loving Father.

We all need the Love and Support a Local church provides. We do life better together.

When Looking for a New Church let’s look at a couple of things we should prayerfully consider.

Does the church Preach the whole counsel of God?

Did you know a pastor must give account for what he preached and lived. Take a look at:
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a]instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

When the whole counsel of God is preached there will be doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction; carried in a capsule of love for God is love.

How do I prayerfully let go of Past Pain?

Letting Go of a painful past can take time. Sometimes you may need counseling, have a pastor pray with you; a support group help you through a difficult season. Overcoming a difficult past is an essential step. You may need to grieve, have a shoulder to weep on. Make that a priority get the help and prayer needed. Your new church God leads you to will be equipped to help you through life’s trials.

God’s peace will guide you.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

We’ll love to pray with and for you : Text or Call 719-235-5535 someone will be delighted to agree with you in prayer.

Does the church talk about money?

Money should never be put ahead of our love for God or our love for his people. When it comes to money it’s all about motives. Why do we talk about money? Do we want to see more people come to the Lord? Do we want to reach more with the gospel? Do we want to purchase more Bibles? Feed the hungry? Take the gospel to the ends of the earth? God looks at the motives of the heart. When the motives are right, so much good can be done when money is in the hands of a faithful mission driven church.

When a church teaches about the Biblical principles of finances with a pure heart the gospel can be spread to reach many more people to do the great commission.

Does this church challenge me to live for God?

You won’t be the same this time next year as you follow the Word preached and taught weekly.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 NLT
For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.  They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
Sin varies but a good godly church will challenge you to be transformed more and more into the image of God.

Do I have a pure heart before God?

A pure heart before God opens amazing doors.
1 Timothy 3:9 tells us something so profound.
Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience
Our Faith works in a pure conscience. In choosing a new church let’s choose it based on pure motives, with the right heart and God will open doors for you you never dreamed possible.

Does the church Care about the Great Commission –Do they Bless the Community?

Mark 16:15 NKJV
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
A church passionate about spreading the gospel is constantly reaching out and birthing new believers. As well as caring for the poor in the community.

Your gifts talents and callings amazingly unearth while we serve. We discover hidden skills and God grants abilities we never knew were there. Serving is a wonderful way to begin to walk in your calling in God.

Serving also provides a means to walk in divine healing.

Does the church Value the next Generation?

Our success is not complete without us intentionally passing on our faith to the next generation. The right church will be interested in passing on the faith to the next generation.
Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
